Acoustic Guitars
There are two varieties of acoustic guitars: the steel stringed acoustic, and the classical nylon stringed acoustic. While they may look fairly similar, there are actually numerous differences between. Vibrations from the strings over the sound hole is what creates the sound for these kinds of guitars.
Steel Stringed Acoustic
Like the names suggest, these types of guitars use steel strings. This creates more tension which leads to a bigger overall sound. They are perhaps one of the most commonly used instruments in music being used in practically every genre. Besides the different type of strings, it also differs from classical acoustics in that the neck of the guitar is thinner. This can make it easier on beginner players who may have small hands.
Classical Nylon Stringed Acoustic
The classical guitar has a smaller sound than the steel stringed due to its nylon strings. It is more suited for the Spanish styled classical guitar music and flamenco, which is a Spanish folk music and dance.
